BOO! Project 2025: A Ghostly Good Time That Lit Up Our Community
How neighbors, families, and friendly haunters came together to spread joy and fuel brighter futures
Halloween season once again brought out the magic in our community with this year’s BOO! Project 2025 delivering all the spooky neighborhood fun and generosity we could have hoped for.
From September through October, families across Mobile and Baldwin counties opened their doors and hearts to a tradition that blends Halloween mischief with meaningful impact. With the help of Flicker & Friends, our cheerful BOO! mascots, neighbors delighted one another with secret surprises, yard signs, and treat bags all while helping fuel high-quality education programs that make a lasting difference in the Avenue community.
This year, YOU helped raise $10,000 through BOO! Project 2025. Every BOO purchased contributed to our ABC Academic Support Programs, supporting children’s education in ways that will last long after the candy buckets are empty.
Let’s take a look back at all the fright & delight that made this year unforgettable.
Flicker & Friends Take the Stage
If you spotted a tiny rockstar ghost on a BOO sign this year, you’ve already met Flicker, our friendly ghost with a glowing heart and a passion for making Halloween magical.
After debuting as a classic ghost in Year 1 and transforming into mini Frankensteins in Year 2, Flicker and his ghostly crew took the spotlight this year as little rockstars, ready to rock the stage just like the performers at our annual Lip Sync Battle. Their mission?
To spark joy, ignite generosity, and spread BOO magic across our city one neighborhood at a time.
And judging by the videos, photos, and stories you shared - mission accomplished!
BOO! Kits, Extra BOO Bags, & BOO-zy BOOs
This year’s BOO offerings gave families plenty of ways to join in the fun:
BOO Kits
Each kit came packed with a signature BOO yard sign, festive treat bag, and everything needed to surprise a friend or neighbor. Once BOO’d, families kept the chain going, creating a wave of joy throughout the community.
Extra BOO Bags
For homes with multiple children or family members wanting to join the fun, Extra BOO Bags made it easy to make sure everyone in the household felt included.
BOO-zy BOOs (new this year!)
For the first time ever, we introduced BOO-zy BOOs, a special grown-up twist on the tradition. These limited-quantity kits paired perfectly with wine or spirits and quickly became a favorite among parents wanting an extra festive way to surprise friends.
Community Pop-Ups at Locals Market
Another highlight this year was our two pop-up sales at the newly opened Locals Market in Spring Hill.
Parents swung by before and after carpool, grabbed BOO Kits, stocked up on after-school snacks, explored new dinner finds, and -of course - picked up wine for their BOO-zy BOOs.
The excitement was contagious, and these pop-ups helped spread both Halloween spirit and awareness of the campaign to families across the neighborhood.
What Your BOO! Made Possible
Every BOO! Project Kit purchased this year directly supports Fuse Project’s ABC Academic Support Programs, helping expand high-quality education opportunities for children in the Avenue community.
Your Halloween fun helped:
Fuel academic support initiatives
Support ongoing student programming
Strengthen our education pipeline from early learning through academic success
BOO-ing your neighbor may seem like simple fun, but it adds up to meaningful impact.
Thank You to Our BOO Crew
BOO! Project simply wouldn’t happen without our incredible BOO Crew, a dedicated group of volunteers who helped us stuff hundreds of BOO Bags, organize supplies, and distribute kits across neighborhoods in Mobile and Baldwin counties.
These community champions kept the fun flowing and the BOOs moving. We’re endlessly grateful for the time, energy, and enthusiasm they poured into this year’s campaign.
