Mobile baykeeper
Mobile Baykeeper’s mission is to protect and preserve the beauty, health, and heritage of the Mobile Bay Watershed, Alabama’s waterways, and coastal communities. These funds will be used for the Strategic Watershed Awareness Program (SWAP) educational project. SWAP addresses the lack of connection and awareness to local watersheds by educating and engaging youth and adults about the environment to encourage lifelong learning and stewardship. Mobile Baykeeper will conduct 25 full day sessions of SWAP. The goal for attendance to each session will be 60 students, resulting in approximately 1,500 students being engaged throughout the program year. Excursions will also be conducted allowing approximately 110 students to participate in guided kayak trips and delta safari boat trips.
