Order of Fuse Announces 2020-21 Grant Recipient - Redemption’s Place

At the OOF Spring Brunch, we were thrilled to announce the 2020-21 Order of Fuse grant recipient, Redemption’s Place.

An affiliate of ICU Mental Health, Redemption’s Place is a newly formed organization that will be using the $20,000 grant to pilot a program to improve mental health awareness, access to mental health services, and community engagement for youth and their families in the Historic Avenue communities.

Redemption’s Place is a therapeutically-infused organization that will offer educational, employment, community involvement, and mentoring programs that are assisted by mental health clinicians and all uniquely designed for underserved and disadvantaged communities. It will be a hub in which effective organizations in the area will be able to collaborate in providing cohesive efforts under a Trauma-Informed Care system of support, bringing “the village” back.

Their aim is to not only increase the resilience needed to survive harsh beginnings, but with an innovative approach they are coining as “Inner-Enterprising,” they also aim to decrease poverty, giving these communities greater chances of thriving.

“Instead of providing groceries, we teach how to fish!”
